Job Title: Principal Data Platform Engineer Department: Data Marketplace and Platform Engineering, Enterprise IT & Quality. Location: Ballerup   Your impact begins here As Principal Data Platform Engineer, you will set the technical direction for the Novo Nordisk DataCore Platform, the enterprise data and analytics platform built on Databricks. You will shape engineering standards, guide architecture and strengthen how scalable, secure and compliant platform capabilities are built. Your work will enable critical business and scientific use cases across the organisation, helping teams deliver progress that reaches people living with serious chronic diseases.   What you'll bring To move quickly in this role, you can assess your fit against the following: • A Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology or a related technical field. • Extensive experience in enterprise platform engineering and cloud infrastructure. • Proven expertise with Terraform, AWS, Azure, Databricks, CI/CD and DevOps practices. • A strong understanding of Infrastructure as Code and platform automation. • Experience in highly regulated environments such as pharmaceutical, healthcare or financial services. • A strong grasp of governance, security, compliance and operational excellence. • Experience with Data Mesh concepts and enterprise-scale data platforms. • A track record of mentoring senior engineers and influencing technical direction. • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.   Useful, but not essential: • Experience working in global enterprise organisations. • Familiarity with enterprise data and analytics platforms. • Experience driving platform modernisation and engineering transformation initiatives. • Knowledge of platform observability, reliability engineering and cloud governance frameworks.   What you'll do You will act as a technical authority for platform engineering and cloud infrastructure within the DataCore Platform, combining strategic thinking with deep hands-on expertise. Novo Nordisk DataCore Platform (built on Databricks) – instead of Data Core Platform. • Drive technical leadership and platform engineering strategy for the DataCore Platform. • Define and implement engineering standards, reusable patterns and platform best practices, including Infrastructure as Code and automation. • Lead architecture decisions across NovoNordisk DataCore Platform team, AWS, Azure, Terraform and Databricks, ensuring secure, scalable, reliable and compliant solutions. • Support and enable Data Mesh aligned platform capabilities. • Mentor senior engineers and strengthen engineering excellence across global teams. • Influence platform evolution and technical decision-making across global stakeholders, while ensuring compliance with our quality management system.   Who you'll work with You will join the DataCore Platform team within Enterprise IT & Quality, where colleagues work across the Novo Nordisk value chain to deliver trusted technology, high quality and responsible ways of working. You will collaborate closely with global engineering teams, and partner with security, governance and enterprise architecture teams to guide platform direction.
